Yesterday, I released version 1.8.0. This was a feature release, and includes a lot of internal improvements in addition to the following:

 

• You can display the points of the current post’s author using the shortcode by supplying post_author as the value of the user_id attribute, like this: .
• You can now award points to post authors for comments they receive with the Comment Received points hook.
• You can now display a user’s rank with the [wordpoints_user_rank] shortcode.

The next big release will be 1.9.0, with no major new features planned so far. If you have some suggestions, let us know!
